Regenerate Image vs Fork Stream

If you are looking at one image and deciding what to do next, this page gives you the fastest rule:

  • Use Regenerate Image when you want another attempt for the same day in the same stream.
  • Use Fork stream when you want to start a new stream path from that image.

Regenerate Image

Regenerate Image keeps you in the current stream and retries the current image slot.

Use it when you want:

  • Another variation for this day
  • A quick fix without creating a new stream
  • To continue your current stream history

Fork stream

Fork stream creates a new stream using the selected image as your starting reference.

Use it when you want:

  • A brand-new direction from a specific image
  • To experiment without changing the original stream
  • Control over fork-specific settings like prompt, model, and reference strength

For a full breakdown of fork controls, read Fork stream settings.

Quick chooser

  • If you are refining the same timeline, pick Regenerate Image.
  • If you are branching into a new timeline, pick Fork stream.
